Showed up at 8:30 a.m. as ordered for the slide show. Nothing happened until after 9:00 but we finally got it. Nickel or whoever conducts the session talks in the dark while slides of the table are organization are shown. All it does is show how the organization is supposed to work. But nothing ever works the way it's supposed to so I'm not forming any firm opinion until I've had a chance to observe for awhile. After it was over Nickel asked for questions and I tried to get him going on practice s. theory, but he either didn't understand me - or did the question period quickly died.
We work 4 hours every Saturday, and then get the 26 days back during family visitation. The rest of it comes from annual leave. Nothing is free!
At lunch time Bill Anthony and I went to the PX. It was a disappointment because the have hardly any of the stuff I was told I could buy here no TV sets, no tape recorders, no stereo sets. I bought a little SONY transistor radio for $17 - it has a rabbit ear antenna and is supposed to receive both FM and AM - but when I got it home I couldn't make it work. So no football game this weekend. Could be dead batteries, but if so they are really dead becuase not the slightest hint of noise comes out. I have sales slip and will return radio.
Stopped at Bill's apartment for awhile, saw part of a two week old pro football game on TV. The apartment is OK but not conveniently located and on the third floor with no elevator. I'm not so sure I want an apartment.
On picking up my key at the hotel I found that OFO had finally sent me a copy of the briefing schedule I am supposed to follow. Attached [unintelligible] slip [unintelligible] show up at Room 213 at 8:25 a.m. Monday, so I guess it starts now.
